ECFA has announced their 2016 State of Giving Report. Based on data from 1,816 member organizations, cash contributions in 2015 grew 2.2% year over year. Noncash giving grew by 7.5%.
Illustrating the diversity of the nonprofit community, the changes for 27 different sectors are listed separately. A few highlights for the 2015 and 2014 change:

- 8.4% – 11.2% – adoption
- 21.2% – (6.9%) – camps and conferences
- 7.0% – 8.6% – child sponsorship
- 4.0% – 4.2% – missions – international
- (0.3%) – 1.7% – missions – domestic
- 25.2% – 2.3% – missions – short-term (yes, there are enough mission organizations in ECFA to break them into three categories)
- 6.5% – 3.3% – pregnancy resource centers
- (14%) – 8.0% – relief and development
- 3.6% – 4.5% – rescue missions
Report also breaks out the change by size of organization. A few data points:
