Think outside the box.
If you work in the finance or accounting area, there are concrete-lined walls in the box you are trying think outside of.
For a real stretch, try to think creatively inside the box.
Three posts at my other blog explore this idea:
- Be creative *inside* the box explores the need to creatively help our constituencies who are struggling to carry out change in the field while you are working within firm constraints of legal and regulatory and accounting and tax rules.
- Try thinking inside the box because the major constraints you work with are not going away explores the idea that maybe we need to rely on God as we work inside the constraints we have. Maybe God has already given us what we need.
- If we are working within constraints of tax reporting and GAAP, perhaps we should not be too creative. That insightful flash of creative accounting? Maybe not a good thing. If you go too far off the edge of the accounting and tax map, there be fraud.
