Need a place to keep track of all sorts of different types of files? Check out Evernote.

The New York Times has a great article introducing Evernote as a storage tool for all the stray web articles, spreadsheets and photos that don’t have a logical home otherwise (cross-posted from my other blog, Attestation Update).

Here is an intro to a superb tool:

But the easiest catchall tool for saving anything you might need later is an app for computers and mobile devices called Evernote.

Evernote provides a comprehensive single archive of your digital life, giving you one location to store and find practically everything saved on a computer or phone. And the files are automatically backed up on Evernote’s servers. It even makes sharing things with others far easier than emailing attachments around — but it will do that, too.

If you need some nifty tool to get your digital world organized, take a look at Evernote.

Oh, the limit for the free service is really huge. I’m using Evernote a lot and haven’t got close to the limit after learning a few simple tricks. So, it’s free as well as helpful.

High functionality and zero dollar cost. Doesn’t get much cooler than that, huh?

Check out the NYT article. You’ll be glad you did.
